FAS LUBE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Also, our image is enhanced by a strong desire on the part of our employees to give our customers superior, quality service. And, it is further enhanced with neat, clean and attractive lube centers, both inside and out.

FAS LUBE EMPLOYEES ARE TRAINED FOR BOTH TOP WORK AND PIT WORK. THEY MUST BE WILLING TO WORK ON TOP, IN THE PIT, OR BOTH TOP AND PIT AT THE SAME TIME AS CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE AND AS DIRECTED BY THE MANAGER OR ASSISTANT MANAGER.

Getting to the customer as soon as they arrive is mandatory! We do not make the customer come to us. After all, they may have already driven several miles to come to us. If they feel that they are being ignored, they will drive to one of our competitors, never to return! THE CUSTOMER MUST BE ACKNOWLEDGED IMMEDIATELY!

Customers must be greeted with a SMILE. BE COURTEOUS AND USE THE CUSTOMER'S NAME WHENEVER POSSIBLE. This is an ACT OF FRIENDLINESS which gives customers a feeling that THEY ARE WELCOME and THAT WE REALLY DO APPRECIATE THEIR BUSINESS.

Fas Lube employees must be in excellent physical condition and not tire easily. Working for Fas Lube may include, working in a hot/cold, dirty environment, stepping up and down 80 or more times per day from a catwalk approximately 2 feet high. Also, this work involves walking, standing, bending and squatting all day long so it is quite rigorous and requires that service people be in excellent physical condition and capable of speed, dexterity and accuracy.

FAS LUBE EMPLOYEES MUST:

  • HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
  • Have a dependable car. Transportation by friends, family, bus, taxi, etc. is unacceptable.
  • Be willing to participate in Drug and Alcohol Testing both during the interview process and randomly once employed by Fas Lube.
  • Be willing to agree to a criminal background check.
  • Have some Auto Experience or Training unless applying for a Cashier position.
  • Like to work on cars.
  • Male personnel must have short hair, be clean shaven each morning and if applicable, have mustache neatly trimmed (no beard, goatee, chin patch nor sideburns below ears). Female personnel are permitted to wear long hair but due to hazardous conditions, must wear hair tied back if performing services under the hood or under the vehicle.
  • Due to hazardous conditions, jewelry may only be worn by personnel that do NOT perform services under the hood or under the vehicle. Body piercings such as eyebrow, nose, lip, tongue, etc. are not permitted to be worn by any employee.
  • Have had daily bath or shower and use deodorant so customers and co-workers will not be offended.
  • Wear clean uniform everyday. Do not wear the same uniform twice.
  • Wear shoes or boots with oil resistant soles.
  • Until uniforms are received, you must be willing to follow Fas Lube's Dress Code: No excessively baggy clothing. Pants may not be worn below the waist, no holes, rips, excessive dirt, paint, grease, etc. No sweatpants, camo pants (military camouflage), spandex pants, or shorts. No obscene pictures or wording on shirts, no hooded sweatshirts, midriff or tank tops. No sandals of any kind. Female personnel, no dresses, skirts, skorts, or capris.
  • Be willing to work at any lube center regardless of location.
  • Be willing to fill in for any employee who is off duty, at any location.
  • Be willing to work every Saturday.
  • Have a good attitude.
  • Be friendly and show respect to everyone.
  • Work well with others and be a good team player.
  • Not be a backstabber and not start or spread rumors.
  • Be able to accept constructive criticism.
  • Be able to follow verbal and written instructions and company procedures.
  • Be honest and tell the truth about work performed or not performed. Being truthful is essential to eliminate customer claims/complaints.
  • Want to turn out high quality work, sloppy work will not be tolerated.
  • Be able to hear clearly.
  • Be able to see clearly.
  • Be able to work while wearing Safety Glasses and all other required safety clothing and equipment provided by Fas Lube.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time with no problems.
  • Be able to work with hands overhead with no problems.
  • Be able to bend over and squat with no problems.
  • Be ambidextrous, able to use either hand when necessary to perform work.
  • Have a good attendance record.
  • Be able to do any job assigned in addition to working on cars, such as general cleaning of work areas, windows, doors, floors, walls, toilets, etc., trash removal, dusting, grass mowing, weed pulling, watering, planting, pick up outside trash, painting, etc., or any other duties assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager.

All of the above apply to Cashiers, except with respect to the obvious instructions to service personnel regarding catwalk, auto experience, etc.

In addition, Cashiers are responsible for keeping the bathrooms (toilets), waiting area, windows, floors, furniture and computer dusted and clean. Also, keeping coffee equipment and supplies, on hand, neat, and clean.

Cashiers will, when time permits, assist Topman by cleaning windows, adjust tire pressure when necessary, lube door, hood hinges and latch, and attach service sticker to upper left corner of the windshield.
